Ronda

Ronda is one of Andalucia's loveliest towns.  It stands on a rocky promontory linked by the spectacular Puente Nuevo.  Famous attractions such as the Bull Ring and the  recently built Parador and the lovely Mercadillo are worth a visit.  Drive time is approximately 1 hour.

Granada

No visit to Andalucia is complete without a visit to the Alhambra.  Granada was the last Muslim City to fall to Isabel and Ferdinand in 1492.  Their legacy is the amazing Alhambra, a series of wonderful palaces and gardens.  Other attractions include the old Moorish Casbah, the Cathedral (where Ferdinand and Isobel are buried) and the Sacromonte hill cave dwellings.  Drive time is approximately 2 hours.

Malaga

Malaga is the birth place for Pablo Picasso and in Plaza Merced is a public archive of his life and works.  It differs from the other Costa Del Sol towns and cities in that it is relatively untouched by tourism and therefore provides a more "real" Spanish experience.  The Alcazaba (fortress) dates back to 1065 and contains an interesting archeological museum.  Other places to visit include the Cathedral and the adjacent museum of fine arts, the Alameda gardens and just outside the town are the Jardines De La Concepcion. Drive time is approximately 30 mins.

Seville

Seville is credited with the invention of tapas and no visit to the city should be concluded without sampling the delight of one or more of the thousand or so bars in the city.  Some of the main attractions of Seville are the Cathedral, with the La Giralda Tower, the Alcázar palace, the Five Arts Museum, the Triana Bridge and the Sant Cruz quarter.  Drive time is approximately 2 hours.

El Chorro Gorge

El Chorro Gorge and Dam are well worth a visit.  The spectacular views across the Guadalhorce Valley and down to the coast are well worth the drive. Drive time is approximately 20 mins.

The Pink Lagoon (Fuente de Piedra)

The pink lagoon is one of the largest natural lagoons in Spain and is one of only two breeding grounds in Europe for Pink Flamingoes.  The sight of these exotic birds in the wild is something to be seen.  You could combine a visit  to the Pink Lagoon and Antequera or El Torcal Nature Reserve.
